Make a difference
As the Director, Corporate Compliance and Enterprise Risk, you have a unique opportunity to build and operate TCHC’s corporate compliance function while shaping the future of enterprise risk management. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will develop practical frameworks, tools, and reporting that enable leaders to identify, assess and manage significant risks and compliance obligations.
As a trusted advisor to leaders across TCHC and to the Board of Directors, you will bring clarity to complex and emerging risks and inform enterprise-wide decisions. Your advice will strengthen transparency and accountability while ensuring leaders remain responsible for their processes, risks, controls, and corrective actions.
Through coaching, facilitation and fit-for-purpose solutions, you will build risk and compliance capability across TCHC, helping TCHC make informed decisions and ultimately deliver better outcomes for tenants and communities.

What you’ll do
Corporate Compliance

Design, establish and operate a corporate compliance model that enables divisions to identify and manage legislative, regulatory, shareholder, funding, policy and other obligations.
Develop practical compliance tools, guidance, learning resources and reporting that business units can apply within day-to-day operations.
Partner with compliance owners to clarify obligations, assess exposure, address capability gaps and develop proportionate improvement plans.
Monitor changing requirements, coordinate enterprise-level compliance insights, and support escalation of significant compliance matters.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

Shape and operate TCHC’s existing enterprise risk management model, including common risk language, assessment practices, risk appetite and tolerance, the enterprise risk profile and reporting cycle.
Facilitate enterprise and cross-divisional risk identification, assessment, prioritization and response planning with executives, risk owners and subject-matter leaders.
Support risk owners in developing proportionate responses, indicators and monitoring approaches, while ownership of risks, business processes and actions remains with management.
Integrate internal controls as one component of ERM by advising leaders on controls that support the treatment of priority risks and by helping them evaluate whether those controls remain fit for purpose.

Risk Advisory and Capacity Building

Provide concise, risk-based advice on the enterprise risk profile, significant compliance obligations and emerging risks.
Prepare and present integrated compliance and ERM reporting that supports executive and Board discussion, direction, and oversight while distinguishing management-owned corrective actions.
Support appropriate escalation of significant risk or compliance matters and track management commitments for executive and Board visibility.
Coach executives, leaders, risk owners and staff in risk-informed decision-making and compliance management.
Build sustainable capability through workshops, training, templates, communities of practice and decision supports.
Lead, coach and develop team, setting priorities and quality expectations.

What you’ll need

A recognized professional designation in enterprise risk management or compliance designation, such as CRM, CRMA, RIMS-CRMP, an IRM qualification, or CCEP (Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), or an equivalent credential.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive senior experience establishing and operating complex enterprise risk management and corporate compliance functions, including experience designing practical frameworks, advising executives and Boards, leading professional teams, and building organizational capability in an organization of similar size and complexity.
Demonstrated success implementing or maturing compliance programs and ERM in a large public-sector, housing, non-profit or similarly regulated, complex and multi-stakeholder organization.
Expert knowledge of corporate compliance and ERM frameworks and practices, including COSO ERM, ISO 31000, ISO 37301.
Proven ability to translate risk and compliance principles into practical operating models, decision tools, reporting and coaching for business leaders.
Strong understanding of public-sector accountability, Board governance, shareholder and funding obligations, and risk-based reporting applicable to a large social housing provider.
Excellent strategic judgment, facilitation, relationship-building, coaching, change leadership and communication skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex risk and compliance matters as clear options and advice.
